リスニング

問題

今日はリスニング問題を解いたよ．これも題材はTOEFLから．
TOEFLには Short conversation と Long conversation が合って Short の方は短めで2〜3人の日常会話とか．Long の方は主に講義を聞いてその質問に答えるというもの．こっちはめちゃくちゃ難しい．(It's fucking difficult!)
なのでTOEICを受けようとしてる人は Short だけやればいい．というか Long はやるな! という感じ．

もし手元にスクリプトしかなくてリスニングできない状態にあっても疑似的にリスニングの雰囲気を作るコツというか方法を書いておく．(僕は大抵スクリプトだけのときはこうしてます)

以下のお約束を自分に厳しく課してしっかり守ること．実はそれだけ．

  • スクリプトを声に出して読む．その際分からない単語はなんとなく雰囲気だけで読む．
  • 絶対に返り読みをしない．
  • 読むときはリズムとか流れを意識する．
  • 問題解答するのに時間をかけない．(会話問題は問題と選択肢一通り読んだら一瞬で答えられるように，っていうレベルがいる)
  • 絵を想起する．(例えば道案内の内容だったら頭に簡単な地図を描くとか，電話だったら電話口で対応してる自分とか，etc...)

じゃ，問題(スクリプトのみ)投下するので実際にやってみよう．
(なんか著作権とかでいろいろ怒られそう．ちょっとだけだから許してほしいなぁ)

W: I think I'll have my carpets shampooed.
M: They look a bit worn, but they're still clean though.

  • It's difficult to explain how to get to the center.

M: Do you know on which floor the toy store is located?
W: There is a directory just inside the main entrance of the building.

What does the woman imply the man should do?

  • Check the information map of the building.
  • Go to the main entrance of the building.
  • Look for the direction to the store.
  • Go back to the first floor of the building.

W: How long has Katharine been practicing law -----three years?
M: At least that long.

What does the man say about Katharine?

  • She has taken less than three years to finish her degree.
  • She became a lawyer more than three years ago.
  • She has practiced rowing a boat for more than three years.
  • She started exercising more than three years ago.

今日の問題は全然難しくないので，と言いつつ間違えたけど ;-( , 全問わかるようにしとこ．
ちなみに3問目の答え3とかは発音で引っかけてるし，4問目は数字に関する問題(〜"以上"とか〜"以下"とか)なのでしっかりと細かいところまで聞き取る能力が要求されて結構難しい．

久しぶりにリスニングすると疲れるなぁ，やっぱり．
鍛えないといけない．発音したら喉がやられるのでイソジンでうがいしとこっと．
